Night falls and the last day of the year gives way to the longest of nights. The brilliant climax of another December month on the Island, navigating at the speed of a cruise ship. The mouth-watering odors of honey cake, biscuits, tropical fruit and liquers hang in the air. From the incredible Funchal bay, the priveliged view gives all signs of a festival that doensn’t want to end.
This spectacle has been recognised by the Guiness World Book of Records (2006-2012) as the biggest of it’s kind and is the perfect moment to come aboard and welcome in the New Year from the ocean.
