Why Hike Vereda do Burro?

The PR 3 – Vereda do Burro is a fantastic, family-friendly alternative to the hardcore PR 1. It offers similar high-mountain views but on a much wider, gentler path.

You traverse the high plateau, passing the famous Poço da Neve (Snow Well) and descending through the ecological park of Funchal. It’s diverse, safe, and visually stunning.
