PR1 Vereda do Pico do Areeiro/Pico Ruivo/ Achada do Teixeira – FT

This footpath is located in the region of the Central Mountainous Massif and joins the three highest peaks of the island. It begins at Pico Areeiro (1810 m), goes through Pico das Torres (1851 m) and ends at Pico Ruivo (1862 m). Through the many climbs and descents on steps dug into the rocks, you will be able to appreciate the rock formations of the central mountain range, the endemic high-altitude vegetation and the fauna that are part of this ecosystem. On arrival at the summit of Pico Ruivo three viewpoints offer panoramic views in all directions of the island. Next we descend to Achada do Teixeira where our tour ends.

The official trail entrance fee is an additional €10.50 per person, which your guide will arrange for you on the day.
