We did the Funchal city tour and our guide was really friendly, interesting and informative. A good way to get around, including some great viewpoints over the city without the hard work of walking up the hills :) this would be a great orientation tour when you first arrive or if you only have a couple of days in Funchal. Also good as something to do on a cloudy day. You can also be dropped in the city after to explore a little more of what you've seen without paying another taxi fare.
Friendly and informative, our tour took us to the top of Monte where we caught the tobbogen. Picked up at the end of the run for a drive through old town taking in some hidden spots along the way.
The tuk tuk is slightly noisy - primarily due to the cobbles - but such good fun. Fully air-conditioned (open top) with lunch service included (fresh picked Mango from one of the hidden spots) this was a great way to experience selected highlights at our own pace. The opportunity to ask questions and discuss Maderian life is something you don't get on other tours - plus the tuk-tuk is small enough to slip down narrow roads easily
We were only in Funchal for one day and decided to do a city tour. Our guide was so informative and friendly, telling us about the history of Madeira whilst also recommending great food spots around the city. This was fun way to get to know the area and I really recommend it if you're not in town for long!!

This afternoon we had a brilliant tuk tuk tour to Nun’s Valley - and the brilliantly knowledgeable Gonzalez! Highly recommended, and what a stunning place 😊
