We Called It! Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Are Officially Married in Cascais
The news is finally out, and we couldn’t be more excited to say: we told you so! Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez have officially tied the knot, and just as we predicted, the wedding took place in absolute privacy at their new mansion in Cascais.
While international tabloids were busy causing a massive media frenzy last weekend—sending hundreds of people to wait outside the Sé Cathedral in Funchal for a wedding that was never going to happen—we at This is Madeira Island were already setting the record straight. As we said at the time, Ronaldo was in Cascais laughing at all this, while all those people were just planted there waiting for him!
We knew that for a couple who values their peace and privacy, a heavily guarded event at their own estate made perfect sense. Meanwhile, a secret wedding in the busy heart of Funchal without major road closures was always a logistical impossibility.
We always love to see our homegrown hero back on the island, but today is all about celebrating their love and their special day. Huge congratulations to Cristiano and Georgina on this beautiful new chapter!
