This is a great opportunity to combine an Island tour with a hike where we can explore so many different landscapes, come join me and visit unique places of the island.
The Laurel forest of Madeira (Laurissilva) protected by Unesco since 1999, a relic of the prehistoric times. It is the largest and most well preserved on the planet, believed to be 90% primary forest, mostly spread in the north side of the island.
Ancient footpaths connecting villages before roads were a reality in the island, combining urbanised and farming landscapes with coastal or mountain (or both) backgrounds and forest.
Spectacular Mountain trails that will take you to the highest points on this island where walking above clouds is a possibility!
For this tour, I will present you some of the most popular and beautiful hikes in the island, with a length between 5 to 14 km long and different levels of demand that you can choose, you will learn about the flora and fauna and discover amazing views while walking through the forest.
This tour can be extended 1 or 2 hours without any extra cost.
If you are a solo traveller or travelling with another person, please ask for a special quote.
After picking you up, we will drive to the hike point of start in order to get ahead of the hiking groups that normally do several stops collecting people to hike.
The hike regions you can choose from are the following ones.
-Northwest (Porto Moniz and São Vicente Council)
-Southwest (Calheta and Ponta do Sol Council)
-Northeast (Santana Council)
-Southeast (Machico and Santa Cruz Council)
-Central Mountains Massif
After hiking, we will visit some of the highlights of the region you have chosen.
