What you will do

Get picked up from your accommodation in an open top 4×4 vehicle for a day of sightseeing around southwest Madeira. Begin your day at the village of Campanário and journey on to the Ponta do Sol/Canhas area where you can visit the banana and sugar cane fields, important products of colonial-era Madeira. Travel old serpentine roads used only by locals and enjoy an off-road experience into the forest with views of the island’s varied landscapes. Check out Paúl da Serra, the largest plateau on the island with an average altitude of 1,500 meters, and scope the stunning views of both the north and south coasts. Head down to the quaint town of Prazeres for a local lunch. Afterwards, see the rugged cliffs and narrow winding roads around Fajã da Ovelha en route to Paul do Mar, Jardim do Mar, and Calheta. Return to your accommodation along coastal roads with beautiful views of the ocean and Madeira’s warmest region.
