This trail, along the Levada da Serra on the eastern part of the island, stretches over a predominantly flat course of about 5.2 km. Enjoy a unique landscape, flanked by a rich collection of exotic flora such as rhododendrons, agapanthus, as well as specimens of the laurel forest—a type of humid subtropical forest.
Come to know some of the most enchanting sites of the parish of Camacha. Highly accessible, this route promises an extremely pleasant experience, combining nature, culture, and tranquility.

The Rabaçal Forestry Station in the region of Paul da Serra is the starting point for our walk, which gives access to Levada do Risco and Levada Nova do Rabaçal. The walk is done along these two levadas and is classified as being of moderate difficulty with a length of about 11 km.
First, we follow the Levada do Risco up to the waterfall of the same name. Then, we descend to continue our walk along the Levada Nova do Rabaçal, which takes us to the 25 Fontes lake—earning its name from the various waterfalls cascading into it.
The path goes through the indigenous and endemic flora of Madeira Island, highlighting the high-altitude vegetation, and offers indescribable views over the valley. The return to the south coast of the island is done through the Cavaleiro tunnel (about 800 metres long).
