PR1 Vereda do Areeiro Closure

PR1 Vereda do Areeiro Closure

PR1 Vereda do Areeiro Closure

Please be advised that the PR1 Vereda do Areeiro trail will be temporarily closed on September 14th, 15th, 16th, and 17th, as well as on September 21st and 22nd. This temporary closure is required by the IFCN (Institute for Forests and Nature Conservation) to install a new footbridge and carry out essential route maintenance.

We strongly urge all visitors to respect the official on-site signage and refrain from bypassing the barriers during these days.

While this iconic route is briefly unavailable, Madeira Island offers many other spectacular landscapes. We highly recommend taking this opportunity to explore the stunning coastal views of the PR8 Vereda da Ponta de São Lourenço or discovering the unique beauty of the PR27 Glaciar de Planalto.
