The Madeira International Airport is facing a complete meltdown with a staggering 105 flights cancelled this Saturday alone. This brings the total number of cancellations since Friday to 185, effectively paralyzing air travel to the island.

Reports from the terminal describe “endless queues” snaking through the airport, with frustrated travelers—particularly those flying with Ryanair—waiting hours just to try and rebook their connections.

No End in Sight? The worst might not be over yet. According to the latest updates, the airport is expected to remain severely conditioned until tomorrow afternoon (Sunday). Winds have been clocking in at ferocious speeds, with gusts exceeding 100 km/h at the airport, making safe landings impossible.
