Perfect for photography lovers, this tour starts with a Remote Sunrise at a hidden spot, away from the crowds. After that, we’ll explore the east side of Madeira, visiting breathtaking viewpoints, the famous Santana houses, and one of the island’s highest peaks. Along the way, you’ll also get to taste Poncha, Madeira’s traditional drink. A great mix of nature, culture, and unforgettable landscapes!
Itinerary
Come along our Eastside Wonders tour and join us on a full day expedition through Madeira’s mountainous landscapes. From high peaks like Pico Areeiro to traditional mountain villages and breathtaking ocean views. While we take you from height to height, along off-road tracks, you’ll witness a variation of landscapes through the windows of our 4×4 jeep. Get ready to be blown away by the beauty of our island’s mid and eastern paradise.

What you will do
Stop 1: Secret spot
Starting our tour in Funchal, we drive to a secret stop. This magical and exclusive sunrise point offers private access, with stunning cliff views perfect for photography. You’ll experience breathtaking vistas and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of this hidden gem.
Stop 2: Porto da Cruz
Porto da Cruz, a village known for its sugar cane production. We invite you to visit the sugar cane factory (entrance fee not included) and have a drink in one of the local bars. If weather conditions allow it, you can also take a refreshing swim in the ocean.

Stop 3: Poncha making
Behold the amazing views as we drive you along off-road tracks to a local bar, where you’ll learn about and try our traditional drink. Watch the magic happen right before your eyes and enjoy a taste of this drink, as fresh as it can be.”

Stop 4: Santana Heritage
Soak up more Madeira heritage and culture in Santana, known for its traditional thatched roof houses. This picturesque scenery also serves as our lunch spot for the day.

Stop 5: Miradouro do Guindaste
Continuing our east tour, we drive to Miradouro do Guindaste, the ideal place to unwind in Madeira. This idyllic setting with an endless view over the Atlantic Ocean is perfect for taking a break and soaking in nature’s beauty.

Stop 6: Pico do Areeiro
Our Last stop is probably the most iconic one of this tour. At the third-highest peak (1818 m) of Madeira, Pico do Areeiro, you can admire the mountainous landscape, lush valleys and maybe even get a glimpse of the ocean on clear days.
