The Levada do Moinho starts on Lombada da Ponta do Sol, near the Church of the Lombada.

The trail starts at Levada do Alecrim, around Rabaçal. Take the courses of the levada until you get to a detour to the path that will take you to Lagoa do Vento.
Turn left on the path and start to descend. From here the path radically changes, and you start walking in the heart of nature. The floor is sometimes irregular and can be slippery, so caution is advised. Immerse yourself in the natural surroundings and enjoy an entirely different and unique walk!
Levada do Furado – Ribeiro Frio – Portela
Ribeiro Frio is a place famous by its diverse attractions. Here the visitor can find a beautiful garden, a famous trout pond and the beginning of wonderful walking trails.
This trail, in particular, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Madeira. You can enjoy the natural heritage of the island, since the trail is full of endemic species of regional flora and fauna. The magnificent vegetation fills the eyes and soul of the hikers, involving them in a peaceful environment. The shining sun infiltrates between the laurels and other plants of this area.
Levada do Rei
This is undoubtedly one of the levadas you don’t want to miss. A magnificent trail of the Madeira’s Laurissilva forest where you can enjoy the unique vegetation of this UNESCO natural heritage.
The first part of the trail consists of a mixture of endemic and introduced vegetation after the discovery of the island. You can see various perspectives of the village at a distance.
In the second part, the trail penetrates into the interior of the island, that stills remains the same since before its discovery, more than five centuries ago. In this path, you find the natural flora and fauna of Madeira, which include laurel, heather, chaffinch, among many, many others.
Pico do Areeiro – Pico Ruivo (Mountain Walk)
This trail takes place in the immense and magnificent mountains of Madeira. Along the way you can enjoy the wonderful landscapes composed by the formidable rock formations, sometimes covered by the clouds and the villages that can be seen in the distance. Stop once in a while and feel the great feeling to be closer to the sky.
Also in this journey you can visit the three highest peaks of Madeira: Pico do Areeiro, Pico das Torres and Pico Ruivo.
