UPDATE: The trail is already opened for pedestrians

The Instituto das Florestas e Conservação da Natureza (Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation) has informed that the Recommended Hiking Trail from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo is closed due to a landslide.

The IFCN will now proceed with its cleaning and restoration, and the trail will remain closed until the work is completed,” as stated in a note sent to the editorial office.
