The Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation announces that following the conclusion of adverse weather warnings, the previously closed classified walking routes are now open.

With the reopening of these routes, we extend our gratitude for your cooperation in reporting any anomalies (such as breaks, branches on the paths, or other issues) encountered during the closure. Please communicate such observations via email to any of the following addresses: ifcn@madeira.gov.pt, luisa.gouveia@madeira.gov.pt, or ana.se@madeira.gov.pt.

Furthermore, the Institute of Forests and Nature Conservation, IP-RAM (IFCN, IP-RAM), informs that for safety reasons, the pedestrian route PR 1 Vereda do Areeiro (Pico do Areeiro – Pico Ruivo) is temporarily closed due to a landslide.

Additionally, for safety considerations, the section between the PK 3+400 Kilometre Point and Ribeira do Lajeado (Lagoa da Dona Beija), pertaining to the pedestrian route PR 6.2 Levada do Alecrim (Rabaçal – Ribeira do Lajeado), is temporarily closed due to a landslide.
