The clocks will go back 60 minutes the next morning in Portugal to start winter time, according to the Lisbon Astronomical Observatory.

In mainland Portugal and in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, clocks should go back by one hour when it is 02:00 am on Sunday, becoming 01:00 am.

In the Autonomous Region of the Azores, the change will be made at 01:00, changing to 00:00.

The legal time will then change again on March 28, 2021, for the summer regime.

The current time change regime is regulated by a directive (Community law) of 2000, which provides that every year the clocks are clocked one hour ahead and one respectively on the last Sunday in March and the last Sunday in October, marking the start and end of summer time.

Os relógios vão atrasar 60 minutos na próxima madrugada em Portugal para dar início ao horário de inverno, segundo o Observatório Astronómico de Lisboa.

Em Portugal Continental e na Região Autónoma da Madeira, os relógios deverão ser atrasados uma hora quando for 02h00 de domingo, passando a ser 01h00.

Na Região Autónoma dos Açores, a mudança será feita às 01h00, passando para a 00h00.

A hora legal voltará depois a mudar a 28 de março 2021, para o regime de verão.

O atual regime de mudança da hora é regulado por uma diretiva (lei comunitária) de 2000, que prevê que todos os anos os relógios sejam, respetivamente, adiantados e atrasados uma hora no último domingo de março e no último domingo de outubro, marcando o início e o fim da hora de verão.
