Two slightly injured people, including a 5-year-old child, is the provisional assessment of the collapse that took place this Sunday afternoon on the Praia Formosa promenade, at a time when some means involved in the search and rescue operation are already beginning to demobilize.

The 5-year-old child, who was transported this afternoon to Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital following the collapse in Praia Formosa, has no traumatic injuries. The confirmation was given by the commander of Firefighters Sapadores of Funchal (BSF), José Minas, who is on the ground monitoring the situation.

In addition to the girl, an adult, the child’s uncle, also suffered bruises and was admitted to the emergency department of Hospital Néli Mendonça, also to be examined.

Until a moment ago, a PSP team was on the scene carrying out searches to make sure there are no fatalities.
