The weekend will be marked by adverse weather conditions, especially at sea, where waves are expected to reach heights of 5 to 6 meters, potentially even reaching 12 meters.

According to the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), northwesterly waves measuring 5 to 7 meters, with the possibility of reaching a maximum height of 12 meters, have prompted an orange warning for maritime agitation in Madeira, starting from 3 o’clock in the morning on Sunday. Until then, there will be a yellow warning for maritime agitation with waves of 4 to 5 meters.

This situation is due to the most significant aspect of this weather pattern, which is the increased maritime agitation starting from the late afternoon of the 4th. IPMA also alerts to a cold front that is expected to cross the Madeira archipelago during the late hours of this Saturday, though without severe consequences. The most significant impact will be the heightened maritime agitation, particularly on the north coast of Madeira and Porto Santo.
